Inspiration of Mr.Walter Elias D - December 2014

This painting came to complete my second art project called "Spirit of Place". I painted this castle based on a picture I took in the Natural Park of Pena, Portugal. This building is located outside Lisbon, on the top of a very steep hill. It faces a mind-blowing landscape which has left me breathless; From the meadow of the hill to the ocean, a clear and straight horizon. Was fairy not only its location; its smooth and colourful architecture was finishing the impression of having left behind the real world. Time stops by in Pena.

No surprise that this vibrant architecture inspired Walt Disney for designing his first park, DisneyWorld.
